Red Mahogany comes from mostly Australia. This wood is a dark red in the heart of the tree and a crème color more towards the outer edge. The denseness of this wood on the Janka scale is 2697 which makes this wood very difficult to scratch and dent.
The grain of this wood is open and rough, with interlocking grain almost a rippled effect. Red Mahogany takes stain and paint very well due to the open and rough grain.
Red Mahogany is not a very popular wood floor so if you’re looking for something unique this may be the floor for you especially if you really like the red look.
