Somerset is another large supplier of affordable hardwood. Somerset’s headquarters are in Somerset, Kentucky. They are a privately owned company. Somerset is also the largest supplier of kiln dried Appalachian Hardwood. Most of Somerset’s warranties are a 50 year finish wear warranty and a lifetime structural warranty. Somerset has several different collections here are the differences below. Color Strip The color strip collection is made all of oak ¾ solid wood. The widths are either 2 ¼ or 3 ¼ random lengths. This collection also has eased edges and squared ends.

Color Plank

The color plank collection is relatively the same as the color strip collection. The main differences are the widths either 4” or 5”. This collection is also offered in a ½ engineered in widths 3” or 5”. The engineered wood gives the ability to put the wood anywhere in the home with the same look as the solid.

High Gloss

The high gloss collection is an all oak collection. This collection comes in a ¾ solid construction with the widths of 2 ¼ and 3 ¼ random lengths boards. The edges are eased and squared ends. The finish is a high gloss would remind you of a piano finish a very contemporary look.

Character Collection

The Character collection is a ¾ solid construction with random length boards and the choice of 3 ¼, 4”, or 5” wide boards. This collection is made up of Walnut, American Cherry, Hickory, Maple, and White Oak.

Country Collection

The country collection is a ¾ solid construction with random lengths and a choice of 3” or 5”in the width. This collection is unique do to the hand-honed beveled edges and ends. Country is also hand scraped with natural and hand- applied character making a unique custom look and texture.

Antique Collection

This collection is an engineered collection of ½ thick and 5” width boards. The edges are eased and the ends are eased. The engineered boards are hand-scraped with natural and hand – applied character markings. This 3mm thick sewn top gives a great unique look.

Exotic Collection

This Exotic collection is a ¾ solid construction with 3 5/8 or 4 13/16 widths. The ends and edges are eased. Somerset took the best exotic woods to put in their collection. They were carefully selected and then imported under the strict guidelines the government has in place for illegally harvested wood.

Specialty Collection

This specialty collection is made up of Maple and Hickory all are ¾ solid construction. There is a difference in the widths if you’re looking at Maple the widths are 2 ¼, 3 ¼, 4 or 5”. If you’re looking at Hickory the widths are 3 ¼, 4 or 5”. The edges are eased and ends are squared.

Value Collection

This collection is the exact same as the color strip collection minus the wear warranty. The color strip collection has a 50 year wear warranty the value collection has a 25 year wear warranty. That is the only difference.
